SpaceWorks Celebrates 15th Year

Atlanta, April 30, 2015 – SpaceWorks Enterprises is celebrating 15 years of operations in 2015. Founded in Atlanta on August 1st, 2000 by Dr. John Olds and Melinda Olds, SpaceWorks has grown into a nationally recognized provider of aerospace engineering services, NewSpace business modeling and market assessment, independent technology evaluation, and software products. SpaceWorks serves a variety of clients in the space sector including NASA, the US Air Force, tier 1 aerospace contractors, and a variety of emerging space companies in the US and abroad.

“When we started SpaceWorks 15 years ago, the space industry was on the cusp of a new revolution in commercial space. NASA was looking for commercial transportation partners for the Space Station, there was hope for space tourism and private utilization of space resources, and extremely small and capable CubeSats were starting to be developed at American universities. In addition, the US military was increasingly interested in lower cost reusable space boosters and applications of hypersonic propulsion,” says Dr. John R. Olds, CEO of SpaceWorks. “It’s been exciting to witness and to be an integral part of some of those changes that have now occurred in our industry. We’ve been fortunate to work with some of the best and brightest aerospace professionals in the world over the last 15 years in various roles as colleagues, partners, and customers at SpaceWorks. We are appreciative of all of their contributions to our company’s success. Our next 15 years promises to be even more exciting with talk today of several private satellite constellations in low Earth orbit (LEO), innovative options for human exploration of deep space, low cost space launch for microsatellites, and emerging microgravity research applications from LEO.”
