Engineering Software Developer

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly capable and experienced software developer (computer programmer) for our main office in Atlanta, GA. SpaceWorks is an industry leader in the development of desktop aerospace engineering software such as QuickShot, Sentry, and REDTOP-Pro for the design of future aerospace systems. In addition, our software development team is often tasked with developing custom or niche engineering software tools for our customers in the US Government or the New Space industry.

SpaceWorks' software products are built to solve aerospace engineering problems. Therefore, our software developers must understand the “physics” involved in the problems. Computer Engineer/Embedded Systems Engineer

Position Summary:

The Computer Engineer/Embedded Systems Engineer will work with a small team of engineers in our Atlanta, GA office to help design, prototype, and deploy a variety of spacecraft, CubeSats, SatCom ground terminals, hypersonic flight systems, and reentry devices. We are seeking an early to mid-career engineer with experience in spacecraft electronics, embedded systems, microcontrollers, actuators and controls, and printed circuit board design. Past and relevant hands-on experience with both electronic systems design and prototyping (small unit production) is a must. Actual hands-on flight experience with small satellites is preferred.

This position is required to be a hybrid of a traditional Electrical Engineer and a Computer Scientist, with the ability to design and build spaceflight avionics and controllers in a rapid prototyping environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of microcontrollers, be capable of developing their embedded software using C/C++, and have a solid understanding of spaceflight hardware development and test practices.

Position Summary:

SpaceWorks is seeking a full-time Office Assistant to help with a variety of office functions including: handling and maintaining office supplies, shipping and postal duties, handling daily errands and pickups, maintaining office cleanliness and appearance, regularly updating office document databases and visitor logs, helping with office events, and serving as the backup office receptionist on occasion. Proficiency with email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint is required. The Office Assistant will be supervised by more experienced employees and managers.

Entry-Level Systems Engineer

Position Summary:

SpaceWorks is seeking an entry-level Systems Engineer to assist with management and execution of several ongoing space hardware and software development projects within our company. The Systems Engineer will work under the direction of a more experienced lead systems engineer (LSE) in support of several ongoing and future engineering project teams within our group of companies.

The candidate should have knowledge of both classical and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques and tools. Responsibilities will include master schedule management, resource management, risk assessment and analysis, reliability assessment, requirements decomposition and tracking, interface control documents (ICDs), systems engineering plans (SEPs), and other critical elements of a technical project. Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Atlasssian, Confluence, and Jira are preferred skills.

The Systems Engineer will work to support project managers for our projects with the US Government and the New Space industry. Familiarity with advanced aerospace systems is an advantage, but not strictly required. This is not an engineering design position. The primary emphases will be on requirements generation and flowdown, interface control documents, schedule tracking, project documentation, and resource tracking.
